Digital Goonies at CAST 2009- Galveston, TX
Susan and I just returned from Galveston, TX where we presented five (that’s right, five!) sessions for science teachers from across the state and also introduced our newest book!
We met some great teachers and got to share a little of what we know about technology integration in our five sessions. Some of you reading this attended CAST and we hope you had a great conference- and even more, we hope your hotel was better than ours!
Four things we want to remind you of:
1. See that Newletter link at the top of this page? Don’t forget to sign up for our newsletter so that once a month (or thereabouts) we can update you on some of the great web treasures that we have found for teachers to use- for FREE! In order for it to make it to our blog, the service or application must be free- and we all love free!
2. We are getting many requests for our presentation materials from teachers who were unable to attend our sessions (lots of overfilled rooms in Galveston). At the top of the page, notice the Presentations link- on that page, you will find our presentation materials. Please give us a week or so to get it updated! If it’s not updated this time next week, someone email me and remind me!
3. Our newest book Web 2.0: Hot Apps and Cool Projects for Science premiered at this conference- the first time that either of us had even seen it ourselves! If you would like to purchase one of our books and help feed our families, click here for the ordering page direct from us. Hopefully I can get the PayPal buttons to work for our Web 2.0 book!
4. In response to many questions- Yes, we do provide staff development for many districts, schools, and universities. Our full-time jobs as educators only allow us to present 8-10 staff development days a year. So if you’re interested contact us soon as we are already booking for 2010 and expect to fill our calendars by spring!
Thanks again to all the great teachers who came to see us!
