Slide.com- a fun way to make quick videos

We recently added Slide.com to our list of Web 2.0 resources that we demonstrate when we go to conferences (like TCEA!) Slide.com lets you create a video that looks fancy and complicated, but is soooooo easy to use.
Click on the orange button- Make a Slideshow

You then have to decide where to get your images. You can either upload them directly from your computer, or retrieve them from an online storage service such as Flickr or Photobucket.

We typically teach students to get the files from our Flickr teacher account. Remember to have separate accounts for your photos that you share with students and personal pictures. When you use an account like Flickr, you only have to give the students the login name, not the password as well.

When you click on the folder, it doesn’t appear to have done anything, but the images will be down below when you scroll down. You can then rearrange them in the order you want. You can also add captions for each of the images if you desire.

After your images are in the correct order, you can customize your slideshow. Scroll up to the Customize Slideshow section. There you can add styles, skins, themes, and add music. The music is already licensed to slide.com, so you don’t have to worry about copyright issues.
Then click Save Slideshow. This will bring up a dialog box to name your video, add credits, etc.
This will now allow you to insert this into MySpace (what it was really designed for) or get the code to put on a website or blog.
