Presentations made easy… without PowerPoint!
I was trying to find a good online presentation maker, and came across 280slides.com. It allows you to create a presentation that looks and acts very similar to PowerPoint, and best of all… it’s online, easy and free!
It has several nice backgrounds to pick from, and it allows you to upload your existing PowerPoint presentations to use and edit within 280 Slides. I uploaded a student’s dinosaur project, and had limited results. Here’s the before and after….
It might be able to handle a more simple presentation a little easier.
Another feature I really liked was that you could download your project, email it to someone, get a link to it, or embed it, which I did above. When it is embedded, you can view it full screen, and most people wouldn’t know it wasn’t PowerPoint.
I’m not sure if this product would be what I would want to switch to full time. It has it’s limits due to it’s simplicity, for example there is no undo button. For someone who makes a lot of mistakes like me that’s tough. I had to delete the slide and start over a couple of times, and accidently copied a whole section of text in twice. That was tedious to remove since it was below what you could see onscreen.
However, I plan to use it more frequently. I’m sure I will like it more and more as I get used to it. For now though, it’s great when I need a quick presentation posted to the web!
